Vegetable cutting machine
In the food processing industry, it’s essential to have professional equipment that can process vegetables in a way that meets the high demands of your customers. At Marcelissen, we’ve been manufacturing these high-quality processing machines in-house for years and years. So if you’re looking for a vegetable cutting machine for professional use, we might have some interesting options for you to consider. Our machines can be used for vegetables like beets and carrots.
Easycut 1, vegetable cutting machine
Figure 1: Easycut 1
The Easycut 1 is ideally used for elongated vegetables like carrots. The machine, consisting of two transverse belts and two cutting units, works as follows:
- A single layer of products (like carrots) is being transported to the first knife.
- The first knife cuts of the top of the carrots.
- Then, the carrots are transported to a higher level where the tail knife is situated. The tail is removed here.
- After the top and tail have been cut-off, the carrots can (optionally) reach a bar of knives, where it will be cut into smaller parts for further processing.
The top and tail of the vegetables are discharged on both sides of the machine. Product input can be manual as well as mechanical. The capacity is 3.000 carrots per hour.
Halving machine – D
Figure 2: The Halving machine – D
The Halving machine – D is ideal for cutting vegetables like beets and other roots into two or four pieces. This process can be done continuously in two or more lanes. The halving machine comprises of three parts.
Belt: The belt carefully measures the product and is engineered in such a way, that a single layer of vegetables is created on the roller bed.
Rollers: the rollers have a distinct profile that make sure the potatoes are positioned accordingly, before they reach the cutting section.
Cutting unit: this part is driven by a PLC and moves continuously over the rollers in order to cut the vegetables into four pieces.
The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) can be adjusted in such a way, that it matches the speed of other machines and belts that are connected. This comes in handy when the halving machine is being put into a processing line, like our carrot line or potato line. The belt beneath the machine collects all the halved vegetables. The capacity is 55.000 potatoes per hour.
For a demonstration of the halving machine, watch the video below.
Continous halving machine – DC
Figure 3: Continous halving machine – DC
The continuous halving machine – DC is ideal for halving beets in two or more lanes. This halving machine consists of an infeed calibrator, aligning roller bed and cutting section. The beets are measured out carefully by the belt and is engineered in such a way, that it creates a single layer of beets on the roller bed. The halving machine also features self aligning rollers that positions the products before they finally reach the cutting section.
The beets are cut in half continuously, at the end of the roller bed. The halved beets are being collected beneath the machine by an additional belt.
See the video below for a demonstration of this vegetable cutting machine.
Hydro cutter – CSH
Figure 4: Hydro cutter CSH
The Hydro Cutter – CSH is a vegetable cutting machine with a large capacity of around 15.000 kg/hour. It is considerably smaller than the Hydro Cutter SH, without having a smaller capacity. The CSH is the most compact hydro cutter in the world with only 7,5 m2. It consists of a centrifugal pump, water tank, venturi tube, cutting section, discharge conveyor and decelerator. The vegetables can be cut into several shapes and sizes, like wedges and slices.
This vegetable cutting machine has several advantages, like:
- A ‘quick release system’, which makes it easy to change the knife and venturi.
- Requires less adjusting and fine tuning.
- It’s a standalone machine on wheels.
Watch the video below to get a better idea of what the compact Hydro Cutter looks like.
