The Halving machine – DC is ideal for cutting vegetables like beets and other roots into two or four pieces. This process can be done continuously in two or more lanes. The halving machine comprises of three parts.
Belt: The belt carefully measures the product and is engineered in such a way, that a single layer of vegetables is created on the roller bed.
Rollers: the rollers have a distinct profile that make sure the potatoes are positioned accordingly, before they reach the cutting section.
Cutting unit: this part is driven by a PLC and moves continuously over the rollers in order to cut the vegetables into four pieces.
The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) can be adjusted in such a way, that it matches the speed of other machines and belts that are connected. This comes in handy when the halving machine is being put into a processing line, like our carrot line or potato line. The belt beneath the machine collects all the halved vegetables. The capacity is 55.000 potatoes per hour.
