Peeling

Processing processes always start with the natural products that come from the field. First of all, these products destoned and washed. Depending on the specific process of our customers, we like to determine the optimal solution for further sorting, cutting and peeling.

Marcelissen guarantees continuous improvement and use of the most innovative techniques for peeling root products, such as potatoes, celery, beets and carrots.

In order to achieve optimal peeling of the product, precision of temperature and an accurate peeling depth to the millimetre is crucial. We guarantee that as little amount of peel as possible is removed, so that the efficiency of the production process is as high as possible.

Based on the customer’s wishes, we examine together what the most effective form of peeling is. Marcelissen offers suitable solutions for peeling with efficient and low-maintenance technology.

Abrasive Peelers

Using 6, 8,12 or 20, 24 or 28 rolls covered with carborundum (gravel crystals), the Abrasive Peeler (continuous) peels potato, carrots and beets.

After diamond, carborundum is the hardest polishing and abrasive material available.

The transport screw can be set to different speeds and thus provide any desired peeling result. The rolls can be coated with very fine to very coarse carborundum and are easily removable.

Before the final finish, the product can be polished to close pores in order to prevent discoloration of the end product.

Polishing machine

During the abrasive peeling of potatoes, carrots, beets and other tuberous vegetables, you have to deal with holes and wounds in the product.

Of course you want the end product to be of the highest quality and smooth. By further polishing the product with the Polishing Machine, they are made smooth. This creates the smooth snack carrots and potatoes that you see in the shop.

Knife Peelers

For peeling larger quantities of potatoes and beets, we use the SMT Drum Knife Peeler. The peeling process can be done with or without water.

The position of the knives ensures an optimal peeling capacity of up to 10,000 kg/hour. The quick lock system makes it possible to change the blades quickly and easily.

As the knives in Marcelissen’s SMT Drum Knife Peeler can be changed per beam, we ensure a minimum downtime of the machine.

Marcelissen’s SMT Drum Knife Peeler is a recurring test winner.
