2025 in retrospective by Managing Director Jos Derijk

Dear all,

It is almost unbelievable that we are already leaving 2025 behind us. December is, as always, the perfect time to pause, look back at what we have achieved together and look ahead. When I reflect on the past year, one feeling prevails: incredible pride. It was a year in which we, as a team, put our shoulders to the wheel and in which we, literally and figuratively, pushed boundaries together.

And that hard work has not been in vain. I can proudly announce that we have achieved a new revenue record this year! This is a tremendous accomplishment that we could only realize thanks to the tireless efforts of everyone within Marcelissen. This year, we were delighted to welcome no fewer than 40 new customers and delivered a record number of machines. Every single day, we did our best to delight existing and new relationships with our solutions and these figures are the resounding proof of this.

Yet, 2025 was not without its challenges. The world around us continues to change and we have felt the effects. Consider the impact of the import tariffs in the United States and the uncertainty this brings. It remains exciting to see how such geopolitical matters develop, but it is fantastic to see that our American customers continue to seek us out.

Closer to home, but in a complex region, we have also made strides. I am extremely proud of our successful demonstration project in Ukraine. Despite the circumstances there, we have shown what we are capable of. This not only led to a successful demo, but we have already directly gained a new customer from it and are in discussions with multiple potential buyers in Ukraine.

We have not stood still in the field of innovation either. We are always working to make our machines smarter and better. I cannot reveal too much yet, but we are currently working in close cooperation with a very good customer on the development of a completely new ‘re-peel’ machine. Consider this a small sneak peek, as you will certainly hear more about this in the new year.

But as wonderful as these records, projects and innovations are, there is something I unfortunately became more aware of than ever this year. Namely, how important and essential time with family and friends is. Hard work is great and is part of our DNA, but relaxation and recharging are just as important for maintaining mental and physical health. The well-being of our team has always been Marcelissen's focus, but the experiences of the past year have only reinforced that realization.

Let us, therefore, especially use these holidays to take that time for each other. Enjoy the togetherness, good food and rest. I want to thank everyone, our employees, customers and partners, from the bottom of my heart for their trust and commitment.

I wish everyone a very happy holiday season and a happy, relaxed and above all, healthy 2026.
