2024 in retrospective by Managing Director Jos Derijk
Dear all,
The end of 2024 is approaching rapidly. December is a time to reflect on what has been, but also to look forward to all the wonderful things to come. 2024 has been a year of movement and change, but above all a year filled with pride and beautiful moments.
This year, we’ve said goodbye to a few colleagues within our company. While some have retired to relish their well-deserved pensions, others have embarked on new adventures. Unfortunately, this is part of the journey, but it remains beautiful to see how each person’s story unfolds. The silver lining is that we’ve also welcomed several new faces. In a time when finding skilled employees is challenging, our SME family business has proven to be an attractive place to work. At Marcelissen you’re not just a number. You’re a human being with a life and a home, something we truly understand and respect.
A year of success and bonding
Together we’ve worked hard this year and achieved a lot. Thanks to the dedication of our entire team, we’ve secured an impressive number of orders. We can truly be proud of this! Alongside all the hard work, there was plenty of room for bonding. At two trade shows, we not only generated new leads, but also reconnected with existing customers. A great atmosphere was matched with success: a perfect combination.
Throughout the year, our staff association once again went all out to organize the most enjoyable parties. The strong team spirit within our company is not something we can take for granted, so it’s wonderful to see how well everyone gets along. These moments of relaxation and fun remind us of how important it is to celebrate the small successes together as well.
A glimpse into 2025
As we reflect on the past, we also look ahead. Next year, we will continue to focus on what we do best: building high-quality, reliable machines that help our customers optimize their processes. We are also looking further into the future, where sustainability takes center stage, with CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) as an important guideline. The first steps have already been taken, but in 2025 we will take it to the next level.
I am very delighted to announce that the Day of the Manufacturing Industry is making a comeback at Marcelissen. After successful editions in 2022 and 2023, we are excited to open our doors once again and show people what we are so proud of.
We also have ambitious plans to further enhance our operational efficiency and continue investing in digitalization. With greater insight into our processes, we will stay one step ahead of tomorrow’s challenges.
Of course the exciting get-togethers deserve a mention as well! For 2025, we have more great staff outings planned where we’ll continue to enjoy ourselves together. Building strong bonds remains a key focus for our company, so it’s important to keep doing fun things together.
A year like this calls for gratitude. My thanks go to everyone who contributes daily to our company with great passion, creativity and determination. Because of my colleagues we truly make a difference. A big thank you to all our customers, partners, and other stakeholders for their trust. Together we look forward to a successful and inspiring 2025.
