Machines & production processes tailored to your personal wishes and needs.
As worldwide market leader Marcelissen has a lot of experience in the field of food processing machines for potatoes, beets, carrots and other root vergetables. We deliver and maintain technical and qualitative high-end solutions that contribute positively to your company’s operating results.
We are pleased to share our experience and knowledge. Together we can develop an optimal carrot processing line according to your wishes. In the following you can learn about how we do this.
To achieve the best possible results for pocessing your carrots, several steps need to be undertaken which are performed by individual machines. In combination the different links compile a complete processing line. Fortunately, at Marcelissen we have a lot of experience with setting up individually suited carrot lines.

At Marcelissen we construct tailor made carrot lines based on your wishes and needs. In cooperation with our customers we determine which machines their processing lines should include. Needless to say that all machines deployed originate from our own assortment. You can also take a look at our complete overview of machines.
Although our carrot lines are custom made, some machines are essential to guarantee a well-functioning manufacturing process. The most important machines are explained below.
Figure 2: Roller Desoiler – VR
The first link of a carrot line usally is the Roller Desoiler. Like the name suggests, this machine is used to desoil the carrots.
This exists of 7 adjustable stainless steel rolls by which the reamins of soil, stones and plants are removed effectively from the carrots. Another benefit of the roller desoiler is that it can also sort carrots by their size. Its capacity is 25.000 kg/h.
Watch the video below for a demonstration of the Roller Desoiler – VR.
Next in line is the Washing Drum – VW. Its purpose is to wash the carrots after they have been desoiled. By means of rotation of the drum in combination with added water the carrots inside the washing drum rub against each other by which they are cleaned perfectly. The water together with the dirt is unloaded below the machine. Big production quantities can be washed thoroughly.
Watch the next video to see the washing drum in action.

Within the food processing industry vegetables often need to be sorted. At Marcelissen we therefore recommend the Root Sorter – SRK.
Figure 4: Root Sorter – SRK
This machine has 5 different settings varying from 9 – 90 mm. Like most of Marcelissen’s machines, it can be adjusted to more specific sizes on demand. The sorting size is freely adjustable while the transport speed can be modified as desired.
Watch the video below for a demonstration of the root sorter. In this video fries are sorted instead of carrots. The functioning for carrots is the same.
The previously described machines form important links of a carrot line. Naturally, more machines can be added to guarantee even better outcomes. The most important objective is that you are satisfied. That is why we discuss your specific wishes and demands. This way we can develop your ideal carrot line. To do so, we will go through the following steps:
