Drum knife peeler – SMT (commercial potato peeler)
The Drum Knife Peeler – SMT is an potato peeler consisting of three main components, namely a frame with a stable knife drum and auger. The potatoes are peeled by the knifes while being transported by the auger.

The knives are being held firm into place by AISI 304 stainless steel beams. This way, the knives are being prevented from breaking. Additionally, the beams can easily be removed or replaced. The knives are placed in such a way, that the efficiency and capacity are increased considerably. They can also be replaced quite easily, which leads to a much lower downtime. Normally, downtime takes more than a day, because every knife bar has to be taken out separately, whereas the downtime of the Knife Peeler of Marcelissen downtime is minimized. The life-time of this mechanical potato peeler has also increased by using stainless steel for the bearings and bearing houses.

Drum Roller Peeler – SKR (industrial potato peeler)

Unlike the SMT (which uses knives), the SKR is a drum roller peeler that uses abrasive (carborundum) rollers constructed in a drum to remove the skin from potatoes. The potatoes are being peeled carefully but thorough, since this industrial potato peeler machine moves at a low speed.
In order to obtain the best peeling result, a constant supply of potatoes and a proper dosing is needed. An auger transports the product to the discharge. When needed, the speed of the dives, rollers and auger can be changed by using frequency converters. Waste is discharged underneath the machine, together with the used water. Throughout the years we have found ways to improve the SKR. There have been made some important changes to the construction of this automatic potato peeler.

U-bed Roller Peeler – SKRT

This professional potato peeler uses several carborundum rollers that together form a u-bed, to lightly remove the skin from the potato. One half of the rollers rotate counterclockwise and the other half rotate clockwise. A constant supply of products is very important for the scraping quality. A transport screw is mounted in the drum with which the dwell time can be determined. By means of a frequency controller, the speed of both the rollers and the screw can be determined.
The waste is discharged under the machine together with the supplied water. Capacity: up to 7.000 Kg/Hr. For a demonstration please watch the video below:
Batch Peeler – SKB

The Batch Peeler – SKB is a compact industrial potato peeling machine made for smaller capacities which peels potatoes by means of an abrasive (carborundum) disc. Potatoes are supplied from the top after which they end up in a round (centrifuge) drum with a carborundum interior. The abrasive bottom disc is covered with carborundum, the interior walls can also be covered with carborundum (optionally). The potatoes rotate evenly over the coarse structure of the carborundum, resulting in an optimal peeling result.
It’s important that the machine receives a constant supply of potatoes in order to obtain a high quality of peeled products. By using timers, the filling-, peeling- and discharge time can be adjusted whenever needed. Waste is removed underneath the machine. This can be done with or without water. Different models
The size of the scraper disk is available in different sizes ranging between 500 and 900 mm (SKB 500 – SKB 900). The SKB 500 and SKB 600 Batch Peelers are best used for smaller capacities of potatoes (or beets/baby carrots) which will undergo further processing. The SKB 800 and SKB 900 are specially designed for the manufacturers of potato crisps. The larger diameter (800-900 mm) is suited for quickly peeling larger quantities of potatoes before slicing them into crisps. The technical details of the potato peeling machines are stated below:
